Prescott Bush and some business folk, namely a man named Heinz (like in the ketchup) and other similar "gentlemen" of the day … they tried to overthrow the US government when FDR came into office. It was a coup. (Sound familiar?) It was investigated by Congress – it's in the congressional record (McCormack-Dickstein) – but "they" were already compromised by the plotters. See: Business Plot of 1933.
Smedley Butler was the most decorated Marine Corps general in history, and they tried to recruit him. He spilled the beans to stop the plot, but they had already bought up the Congress.
Butler was like Gen. Flynn: a true American hero. Butler was the most decorated general in history. He lead all the Marine Corps battles in the late 19th century and early 20th century, but he figured out that all of those wars were about serving Rockefeller interests, not the interests of the American people.
He should be remembered as one of the greatest hero's in American history. Instead, nobody knows anything about him. Gee … I wonder why.

During WWII, the Nazi's had a program called the "Stay Behinds." They would invade a country, and then leave behind undercover German operatives who would spy on the local politicians.
The US/UK intel (OSS at the time) thought this was a great idea. So, they did the same thing post-WWII. They infiltrated all the governments of Europe, to "keep an eye on the commies" who might try to take over Europe.
This was called X2 under the OSS. When Congress created the CIA (1947), X2 became "Operation Gladio."
This might be the single most important thing to know about, in order to understand what is going on today.
Operation Gladio was a CIA op that infiltrated all the governments of Europe. The Italian Prime Minister spilled the beans about this secret op in a speech in 1994. It became public knowledge, and Gladio was investigated by Congress.
The thing to understand about Gladio is it morphed over the years. It first was an infiltration to watch over Euro politics/commies. Then, it was used to overthrow governments the CIA didn't like… Iran, Guatemala, Indonesia, all over the world.
Over time, it morphed into an overthrow of the US government (Trump) in 2016-2017. Nobody will call it Gladio, but that is what it is.
Circa 1953, shortly after the CIA was created (by Prescott Bush and the Dulles brothers), there was a dictator in Iran. He was the Shah of Iran ("king of Iran"). He was ousted by the people, and they democratically elected President Mosaddegh.
Mosaddegh was overthrown via false flag by the CIA in "Operation Ajax" – one of the first CIA ops after the CIA was created. It was run by Nixon and the Dulles brothers.
Mosaddegh was overthrown and tortured by the CIA. The "Shah of Iran" ("king of Iran") was put back in power by the CIA, and the Iranian people hated the Americans for this. That is why the Iranian hostage crisis took place.
The US government (President Carter) was harboring the Shah, and the Iranian people wanted his ass to stand trial for war crimes. They rushed the US embassy, and created the Iranian Hostage Crises.
Over the years, Operation Gladio morphed into whatever the CIA wanted it to be, to infiltrate the governments of the world (and overthrow those the CIA didn't like).
This has culminated in the ultimate CIA-control: the US government.
Obama's grandparents and mother were CIA. Obama was/is CIA. It is Operation Gladio gone domestic. This is the real story.
The CIA has infiltrated not only governments around the world, but the US government itself – the presidency and the Congress.
Trump is their kryptonite.
