One theory put forth by the lead engineer of those buildings is that the planes were loaded with bombs that exploded on impact with the buildings.
Explosives plus jet fuel plus all the other flamable materials seems would cause such an event.
That theory makes more sense to me than the planes were fucking holograms, or it didn't happen at all.
