Pompeo denies Netanyahu's promise to annex West Bank will hurt ‘peace plan’

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has said he doesn’t think Benjamin Netanyahu's election vow to annex the West Bank will have a negative impact on a two-state peace plan, despite the removal of a large part of one state.

Asked whether he thought Netanyahu’s promise to officially annex the West Bank – already riddled with settlements constructed by Israel on occupied Palestinian land in violation of international law – would hurt the peace process, Pompeo said, “I don’t.”

“I think that the vision we’ll lay out is going to represent a significant change from the model that's been used,” he told CNN.

President Donald Trump’s “vision” for the Middle East has already diverged significantly from the model that’s been used.

This has included a unilateral declaration recognizing Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights, which the United Nations has repeatedly declared illegitimate since Israel officially annexed the Syrian territory in 1981.

It has also seen the relocation of the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, defying international law that holds the eastern part of the city to be occupied Palestinian territory. It’s hard to see how this vision could do anything other than hurt the peace process.

Pompeo has been noticeably cagey since Netanyahu’s re-election regarding the two-state solution that until very recently represented the official goal of US policy toward Israel and Palestine.

During a Senate hearing on Wednesday, he refused to answer when Democrats asked him to affirm his support for a Palestinian state, instead responding: “Ultimately the Israelis and Palestinians will decide how to resolve this,” and promising that Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner and his aide Jason Greenblatt would soon unveil a proposal “to resolve a problem that’s been going on for decades and decades that previous administrations couldn’t solve.”

“We're hopeful that we have some ideas that are different, unique, which will allow the Israelis and the Palestinian people to come to a resolution of the conflict,” Pompeo added.

Trump has been touting Kushner’s “peace plan” for years, though he has yet to reveal its contents and even threatened to withhold it entirely if Netanyahu didn’t win a fifth term. Now that the PM’s future is secure, Trump has said he will unveil the plan in June. It’s unclear how much more of the surrounding area Netanyahu plans to annex before then.

Cop Arrested for Repeatedly Raping Mentally Challenged Woman—For Years

A South Carolina police officer was arrested this week for the repeated rape of a mentally challenged woman, whom he threatened to keep quiet for years.

Greenville, SC — This week, a Bob Jones University Police Department officer was arrested and taken to jail for the repeated rape of a mentally challenged woman—over the course of three years.

Deputies with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office arrested officer Darren Thomas Wesley, 51, on Tuesday and charged him with multiple criminal sexual conduct charges. According to investigators, they received a tip that Wesley had been victimizing the mentally challenged woman so they launched an investigation last month.

According to that investigation, the reason the abuse was allowed to go on for so long is due to Wesley threatening the woman if she told on him. According to investigators, Wesley told the woman that if she resisted his rape or told anyone about it, then her family would be destroyed. Police say this “caused serious psychological harm to the victim.”

As WYFF reports:

Investigators said the incidents did not occur on the Bob Jones University campus and they have not received information that any students or faculty were involved.

Wesley is charged with three counts of criminal sexual conduct, first-degree assault and battery, abuse of a vulnerable adult and neglect of a vulnerable adult.

Wesley, who has been a police officer at BJU for 18 years, was fired on Tuesday over the incident.

BJU Chief of Staff Randy Page released a statement Tuesday saying: “Darren Wesley served as a staff member at Bob Jones University. Once his actions were reported to BJU, we dismissed Wesley for breach of the University’s code of conduct. We have confirmed his actions were reported to the proper law enforcement agency.”

The disgraced officer is currently being held in the Greenville County Detention Center with bond set t $90,000.

When a police officer betrays the badge by preying on the ones they are sworn to serve, something has gone horribly wrong. And, unfortunately, it happens all the time.

Just this week, TFTP reported on another cop who raped a vulnerable person, who happened to be a child.

Thousands more ATMs will charge 95p to take out cash in a brutal blow to the elderly and those on low incomes

The firm behind a fifth of the country’s free cash machines is to start charging customers nearly £1 a time to take their money out.

Notemachine will charge for many of its 10,500 devices following changes to how the ATMs are funded.

The new fee will deal a brutal blow to the elderly, families and small businesses – with the axe likely to fall hardest in rural and suburban areas.

It also paves the way for many machines to be shut down completely if they are still unprofitable after the switch.

The free ATM network is paid for by high street banks such as Lloyds and Natwest, which give a fee to operators including Notemachine when a customer withdraws money using their card. But the banks have now cut these fees.

The change – which has reduced fees from 25p per transaction to 22.5p – came as the five biggest high street banks made a combined £30 billion of profit in 2018.

Notemachine is now planning to charge customers an estimated 95p fee at about half of its machines. The rest, which are operated under contracts for big businesses such as supermarkets, are likely to be spared.

Notemachine chief executive Peter McNamara said: ‘It’s just not sustainable and it’s causing a collapse in the number of ATMs in the country.

‘A lot of areas – particularly rural areas, and urban areas outside the city centre – face a really severe risk of either not having ATMs or being forced to pay for cash withdrawals.

‘The people who most need cash are people who probably need to budget very carefully, and there are many millions of them.’ No date has yet been set for charging Notemachine customers.

When a customer uses their card at an independent ATM, their bank pays the operator a so-called interchange fee.

The fee level is determined by an organisation called Link, which is owned by the banks and ATM operators. Link last year agreed to reduce the interchange fee by 10 per cent – from an average 25p per withdrawal to 22.5p – following lobbying by lenders, chiefly Lloyds and Royal Bank of Scotland. At the time, campaigners warned it would make many devices unprofitable, triggering a wave of closures which would create ‘cash machine deserts’ where it was impossible to withdraw money.

At least 3,200 free ATMs have shut since January 2018, according to Link, leaving 51,300 still open.

Mike Cherry, of the Federation of Small Businesses, said: ‘Cash machines are still vital to communities right across the UK.

‘When they shut, that usually means less cash flow in local economies, reduced footfall on high streets and a drop in sales at surrounding small businesses. All that adds up to slower growth.’

It comes after a stark warning from the Bank of England’s chief cashier Sarah John that paper money could disappear altogether.

Miss John said: ‘In order for cash to remain a viable payment method, the public needs access both to withdraw cash and to deposit cash. And if retailers cannot easily deposit the cash they receive from customers, they may choose to stop accepting it.’

About 13 billion payments a year are still made with cash – or more than a third of the total.

A Link spokesman said: ‘Free access to cash is vital for consumers and the UK enjoys extensive coverage that Link is committed to protecting. We will investigate to make sure there is no negative impact on access to cash for consumers.’

The ATM network is supervised by the Payment Systems Regulator. Last October it ordered Link to make sure the public could still access free ATMs in all parts of Britain, regardless of the fee cut.

A spokesman said: ‘We are aware that some ATMs have changed from free-to-use ATMs to pay-to-use. We are looking into this and if it impacts on the commitment Link has made to us to protect the broad geographic spread of free-to-use ATMs, we will take action.’

Germany to Decide if It Can Nationalize Private Property

There has been a real crisis evolving in Berlin. When the Wall came crashing down, East Germany regarded that it owned all the property and thus sold vast tracts of apartments to major investors. Now 20 years later, the socialists are claiming this is not fair and the government should either buy the property back from these investors or confiscate it. There are many people on the left and in the Green Party who see nothing wrong with confiscating private property. Why should they pay for something they cannot afford to buy? Under their reasoning, there is some human right that should allow them to go into a car dealership and drive away with what they want because it is unfair that they cannot afford to buy it.

Berlin has been toying with the idea of holding a referendum on banning big landlords and expropriating their homes into social housing. This is part of a response to growing complaints in the German capital about the cost of living. The expropriated homes will be some 200,000 units that would then become government property, once again, and could be rented out for below market rates.

The danger of allowing private property to be seized without compensation is that it will be devastating for Germany and Europe as a whole. Real property is critical to confidence. If the state can even allow a referendum where the majority of people will be handed the property of the minority, this is really a return to the days of the Nazis. They could not borrow funds on the open market so they targeted the Jews and expropriated all their property. Of course, in those days they killed them. Today, they won’t kill the investors. They will just take all their wealth. It seems that allowing referendums to retroactively change the law is very dangerous. If anyone wants to know why the euro could collapse to new historical lows, put this one into your thinking cap and ask if you want to invest in something that can be arbitrarily confiscated.

Have I got a bargain for you. For a mere $2.7M, you can buy a governor and have the Constitution revoked for an entire state. This is the very definition of the globalists’ subversion of democracy.

In Oregon, all it took Michael Bloomberg’s Everytown for Gun Safety is $2.7M to effectively revoke the Constitutionally protected Second Amendment rights of its citizens. Campaign contributions are legalized bribery and are the primary means that the globalists use to circumvent the democratic process.

Roger Stone Asks Judge To Dismiss Case, Wants Unredacted Copy Of Mueller Report

Roger Stone is calling on a federal judge to dismiss charges against him stemming from special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia probe, while also demanding an unredacted copy of the final report.

Stone’s lawyers made the demands in a flurry of court motions filed on Friday, days ahead of the expected release of a redacted copy of Mueller’s report.

“Only by reviewing the full, unredacted Mueller Report can Roger Stone be assured of his rights to due process, to compulsory process, to know the exculpatory evidence, to determine whether or not he is being selectively prosecuted,” Stone’s lawyers said.

“The Special Counsel Report may be of political interest to many. It may be of commercial interest to others. It may be of public interest to some. But for Roger Stone, the Special Counsel’s Report is a matter of protecting his liberty.”

Stone, a longtime confidant of President Trump’s, was indicted on Jan. 24 on seven counts, all related to the House Intelligence Committee’s Russia probe. Stone is accused of making false statements about communications with associates and the Trump campaign regarding WikiLeaks.

He is also accused of obstructing the committee’s investigation and of witness tampering. Stone’s indictment alleges that he tried to dissuade a witness, Randy Credico, from appearing before the intelligence panel.

Mueller was unable to establish any conspiracy or collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian operatives. The Justice Department is expected to release his report early next week. (RELATED: Mueller Found No Collusion)

Stone’s lawyers argue that charges should be dismissed on the grounds that they involve a congressional proceeding and would require a formal congressional referral for the special counsel to prosecute. The attorneys assert that the intelligence committee did not formally refer Stone for prosecution.

Stone has claimed that Credico, a left-wing activist, was a source for him regarding WikiLeaks’ plans to release documents prior to the 2016 election. Credico has denied being a back channel to Stone, but Stone has released text messages that show that Credico provided insight into when WikiLeaks would release Clinton-related documents. Credico also told Stone that the documents would devastate the Clinton campaign.

In one filing on Friday, Stone’s attorneys cite Credico’s Sept. 7, 2018 testimony to the Mueller grand jury to make the case that Stone was selectively prosecuted.

Stone’s lawyers, who have been provided a transcript of Credico’s testimony, allege that Credico lied by denying having conversations with Stone about WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange before Sept. 10, 2016. The lawyers claim that text messages show Stone and Credico discussing Assange on Aug. 19, 2016.

Stone, 66, hopes to call Assange to testify at his trial, which is tentatively scheduled to start on Nov. 5. Stone believes that Assange will help his case by repeating his past claims that the pair have never met or communicated.

Assange was indicted in the U.S. on Thursday on a charge that he conspired with Chelsea Manning to hack the Pentagon’s classified computer networks. He was arrested and removed from the Ecuadorian embassy in London, where he had lived under asylum since 2012.

Yellow Vest Act 22: Clashes in Toulouse, Vikings in Paris

Sporadic clashes with police marred Yellow Vests protests in Toulouse, the city chosen as the ‘capital’ of this week’s anti-government marches in France. Act 22 is the first since a controversial anti-rioting law took effect.

This Saturday marked the 22nd consecutive week of the “Gilets Jaunes” movement as France once again saw anti-government protests, which were held in cities such as Lyon, Bordeaux, Marseilles, and Strasbourg. In the French capital of Paris alone, some 5,000 demonstrators took to the streets, according to the French Interior Ministry.

Unlike some earlier protest gatherings, no major rioting has occurred so far this weekend. However, Toulouse, which was declared a “capital” of this Saturday’s protests, still saw street violence as the protest march there spiraled into clashes with police less than an hour after its beginning.

The protesters were seen throwing stones, bottles, and firecrackers at the officers, who responded with tear gas. Police also blocked several streets and used water cannons to disperse the crowd. At least 23 people were detained in Toulouse following the clashes that left at least two people injured, according to Le Figaro.

France and Germany agree to take migrants off stranded NGO aid ship in the Mediterranean

France is ready to take in 20 migrants from the rescue ship which has been stranded in the Mediterranean Sea, its interior minister said.

Christopher Castaner said in a tweet his ministry will set a date in the coming hours to facilitate the transfer.

He added that Germany and some other European partners will take in the migrants after they disembark at the nearest port in capital Valletta, Malta.

Alan Kurdi, a ship named after a Syrian boy who drowned while trying to make it to Europe, rescued 64 irregular migrants off the Libyan coast on April 3.

Malta, Italy and Libya have so far refused to accept the migrants, said Sea-Eye, the German humanitarian group which operates the ship.

“The situation on board is really tough. We still have 62 people on board plus 17 crew members and the boat is really not made for so many people”, Carlotta Weibl, spokeswoman of Sea-Eye, told Anadolu Agency.

More than 250 international non-governmental organizations – including Amnesty International, Doctors Without Borders and Sea Watch – wrote an open letter to German Chancellor Angela Merkel last week asking for her support on changing the EU’s refugee policy regulations.

The rescue ship is the latest to be left adrift off the coast of Europe where governments are increasingly trying to push migrants back towards Africa.

Sea-Eye initially tried to land on the Italian island of Lampedusa but Italy’s right-wing Interior Minister Matteo Salvini – who has turned away several rescue ships in the past year – rejected the migrants, saying that Berlin should take them instead.

He eventually agreed to let two minors and their mothers disembark, but they refused to do so without the children’s fathers, who were not allowed off the ship. The ship then headed for Malta.

London police fire shots & seal off Ukrainian Embassy after ‘ramming attack’ on envoy’s car

Police “discharged firearms” and sealed off a street in the western Holland Park area of London after a reported confrontation with a vehicle near the Ukrainian Embassy. Witnesses heard at least 10 gunshots fired.

Ruptly’s footage from the scene shows a sedan with its doors open in the middle of the street and forensic officers examining the area. The location has been cordoned off and a heavy police presence can be seen.

The Ukrainian Embassy described the incident as a “deliberate” ramming of the ambassador’s parked car.

“The police were called immediately, and the suspect’s vehicle was blocked up. Nevertheless, despite the police actions, the attacker hit the ambassador’s car again. In response, the police were forced to open fire on the perpetrator’s vehicle. The culprit was apprehended and taken to a police station,” the embassy said in a statement.

Research Study on Ongoing Crime Spree by Wall Street Mega Banks Gets News Blackout: Here’s Why

One day before Democrats on the House Financial Services Committee held an historic grilling of the CEOs of the mega banks on Wall Street, the nonprofit watchdog, Better Markets, released an in-depth research report on “Wall Street’s Six Biggest Bailed-Out Banks: Their RAP Sheets & Their Ongoing Crime Spree.” The report detailed facts, figures and this inescapable conclusion:

“[Six Wall Street mega banks] have engaged in—and continue to engage in—a crime spree that spans the violation of almost every law and rule imaginable. Taking the breadth and depth of their illegal conduct as a whole, the six biggest banks in the country look like criminal enterprises with RAP sheets that would make most career criminals green with envy. That was the case not just before the 2008 crash, but also during and after the crash and their lifesaving bailouts…In fact, the number of cases against the banks has actually increased relative to the pre-crash era.”

The six mega banks profiled in the report are: Bank of America, Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, Morgan Stanley and Wells Fargo.

A reliable source tells us that all major business media received the report on Tuesday, April 9. We know that Politico had the report by 8:00 a.m. because its “Morning Money” column provided a small news nugget at that time announcing that the report was out. Politico did not follow up, however, with any detailed coverage of the shocking revelations in the report.

Wall Street On Parade, after carefully reading and digesting the report, published an article on its contents the next morning, April 10. Then we began to hear from our outraged readers, who wanted to know why they weren’t reading about this report at major business media outlets. We checked the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, Financial Times, Bloomberg News, Reuters, CNBC, and CNN. We could find no mention of the Better Markets report. (We checked again this morning. There is still a news blackout.)

We know that the Wall Street Journal was aware of the report because Lalita Clozel, a banking regulation reporter for the Wall Street Journal, Tweeted on April 10 that Democrats in the House Financial Services Committee room were handing out the report to journalists while the Chair of the Committee, Congresswoman Maxine Waters, was introducing the bank CEOs.

There are four words in this outstanding report from Better Markets that rendered it unpalatable to corporate business media: “rap sheets” and “criminal enterprise.” We searched Bloomberg News, the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times back to 2004 to see if at any time they had used the words “rap sheet” to describe the unprecedented serial crime sprees of these Wall Street mega banks. They had not. We did find this reference to rap sheets at the Wall Street Journal in 2014:

“Over the past 20 years, authorities have made more than a quarter of a billion arrests, the Federal Bureau of Investigation estimates. As a result, the FBI currently has 77.7 million individuals on file in its master criminal database—or nearly one out of every three American adults.”

Despite almost one-third of American adults having been arrested, not one CEO or top executive of the serially charged mega banks has seen the inside of a jail cell, despite criminal referrals from the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission…

Rivlin rebukes Bolsonaro: ‘No one will order forgiveness of the Jewish people’

President joins Yad Vashem in reprimanding Brazilian leader for saying crimes of Holocaust can be forgiven; Israeli envoy: ‘At no point’ did Bolsonaro show disrespect

President Reuven Rivlin on Saturday rebuked his Brazilian counterpart Jair Bolsonaro for saying this week that the crimes of the Holocaust can be forgiven, though not forgotten.

“No one will order the forgiveness of the Jewish people, and it can never be bought in the name of interests,” he said.

“What [the Nazis] did to us is etched into our memory, the memory of an ancient people,” Rivlin wrote on Twitter.

“We will never cooperate with those who deny the truth or try to erase it from memory — not by individuals and groups, not by party leaders and not by heads of state,” he wrote, the last being in apparent reference to Bolsonaro.

“We will never forgive and never forget. No one will order the forgiveness of the Jewish people, and it can never be bought in the name of interests.”

Rivlin said the Jewish people would “always fight against anti-Semitism and xenophobia,” while calling on politicians not to wade into historically fraught matters. “Political leaders are responsible for shaping the future. Historians describe the past and research what happened. Neither should stray into the territory of the other,” he said.

Colorado ‘Red Flag’ Gun Restriction Bill Signed Into law

Lawmakers in Colorado signed a “Red Flag” gun bill into law on April 12 that will allow the removal of guns from a person deemed to be a danger to themselves or others. Law enforcement, family, and household members will be able to petition for the temporary removal of a persons right to possess a firearm, after proving with facts that the person poses a significant risk.

The bill HB19-1177, called the Extreme Risk Protection Order (ERPO), goes into effect as of Jan. 1, 2020.

Second Amendment

Some have criticized the new bill saying it violates the second amendment.

The Rocky Mountain Gun Owners twitter page tweeted, “We really hope Sheriff Spurlock enjoys his last few days in office. #RedFlagRecalls #coleg #copolitics”

Israeli Airstrike On Northern Hama Destroyed Syrian Long-Range Rocket Launcher

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) lost at least one Maysalun heavy artillery rocket launcher as a result of the recent Israeli airstrikes on the town of Umm Haratayn in northern Hama, a photo released by pro-government activists on April 13 revealed.

Despite the low quality of the photo, the base of the launch rail, the back stairs and the hydraulic outriggers stabilizers can be seen in the remains of the rocket launcher.

Maysalun is a Syrian-made variant of the Iranian Zelzal-2 unguided long-range artillery rocket. The rocket has a range of 210km and a heavy high-explosive (HE) warhead. Israeli sources had accused Iran and Syria of installing guidance systems in these types of rockets, effectively converting them into precision-guided rockets.

While the rocket launcher was destroyed in Umm Haratayn, the new Israeli attack was focused on the town of Masyaf in western Hama. According to RT, Israeli warplanes destroyed the College of Management, the Scientific Research center and the Accounting School in the town. More than 23 people, including 3 Syrian service members, were injured as a result.

According to the available information, Israeli warplanes launched stand-off munitions at their targets from Lebanon airspace. The Israeli Air Force (IAF) has launched multiple attacks on Syria in the same way since 2011.

In Video: US-led Coalition Conducts Night Live Drills In Al-Tanaf

The US-led coalition and its Syrian proxies conducted night live drills in the 55km zone around the southeastern Syrian area of al-Tanaf on April 13.

“The Revolutionary Commando Army and Coalition Forces are participating in night-time exercises using various types of weapons to increase lethality against Daesh [ISIS]. The exercise was a complete success and no one was hurt in the training area,” the Revolutionary Commando Army said in a short press release.

The US-backed group released a video showing the coalition’s High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) conducting a live firing exercise in the course of the drills. The rocket system was deployed in al-Tanaf more than a year ago.

Last March, the US-led coalition held two similar drills in the 55km zone. The coalition claimed that these drills were aimed at countering ISIS. However, local observers believe that U.S. forces are trying to deter Damascus and its allies, who stepped up their military presence around al-Tanaf over the last few months.

Around 200 U.S. service members are currently deployed in the al-Tanaf base, which is located on a strategic highway linking the Iraqi capital of Baghdad with the Syrian capital of Damascus.
