Found interesting program setting up a laptop, and thought techfags might take a look for non techfags.

It's called O&O Shut Up. Anyone familiar?

It can shut down cortana, cameras, microphones, key loggers, all kinds of things on the computer with a switch for each, it said.

I decided to try it, and it did shut down cortana.

Looks like a dash board that makes it easy to shut off computer components?

Weird thing is this. It says there is no down load, and it did not appear to down load, but, I have a tray icon, and it does appear on the screen.

Was wondering if anyone would know how to figure out if this thing is what it says it is. It's not harming the computer so far. Question is, are all those things it lists really off? I just checked the recommended ones.

It has a nice explanation of what each thing is, what (((they))) use it for, what the dangers to privacy are, and what type of programs might not work properly if you flip the switch and shut down the process.

Best I can do for a non techfag explanation.

It was interesting because it bypassed the download process then. It just suddenly appeared on the screen without activation or any activity on my part.

Which is probably how they download things on to your computer silently, right?

Wish I was a tech fag right now.
