And so, as it happens, a few politicians are advocating reparations for slavery - which sounds quite noble, but is way too complicated to ever become a reality. In lieu of such reparations, our country was required to adhere to forced integration through civil rights laws. It was about the best we could do, IMHO.

But that isn't what this post is about.

This post is about reparations for children who were inmates in some of the worst prison camps ever created – the Florida Juvenile Justice System. This story caught my attention with the discovery of 27 grave sites at one of those prisons.

As many as 27 potential “clandestine” graves were discovered on the campus of a now-vacant reform school for boys in Marianna, Florida.

The prison "reform center" closed in 2011 after 108 years of terror. The stories that have come out of it are horrific. They were beaten with leather straps that had a strip of sheet metal inbedded in it. Some did not survive their punishment - a punishment for such things as not asking permission to go to the bathroom.
