Acceleration does not mean lift. >>6181076 is correct, the round becomes subject to the forces of gravity from the moment it leaves the barrel. Meaning that even a round fired UP is actually in a state of drop of arc towards the earth.

The only way the Magnus effect could create lift on a bullet is if the wind would be flowing DOWNWARDS in relation to the path of the bullet. And the shape of the bullet itself is not creating lift, as does a wing; rather, it is solely the rotation of the bullet and the wind traveling at a faster speed on one side of the bullet due to that rotation, that creates a temporary lifting force.

As for uphill shooting, you're referring to what is essentially the "wing in ground" effect. It is similar to the principle that a round fired into a steel bulkhead on a ship at an obtuse angle will not tend to glance directly off it, but will instead travel closely along it for some distance. It shares some similarities to, but is not the same, as lift.

Nothing changes the fact that gravity is a drag, and deceleration's a bitch.

You're welcome, and you're right on the geometry of the uphill shot.

But I can def say that bullets are capable of doing some odd things, like the wing-in-ground thing. It sucks to be the guy down the passage way on a ship, along the opposite wall of the guy shooting at you, and catch something that you thought should have ricocheted right on past you…because sometimes they don't. Personally, I think it has to do with partial bullet deformation creating a sort of wing. But that's just me.

Homos are obsessed with being homo, and think everyone else must also be just as into homo as they are.

Fact. Homos relate everything to faggotry. I often wonder if they even realize no one cares; then I come to my senses and realize that yes, in fact, they DO know no one cares, and so they act out their antics in a pathetic attempt to gain attention and, hopefully, some sympathy.

It's a kind of sex-freak sociopathology.
