>they're just so dumb

They do need to be constantly called out for how stupid the 'theories' are, but they're not dumb. They're trying to make us look like all we do is sit here and argue about whether or not the earth is flat.

Obviously, it isn't. It is shaped like a big pussy hat.

>some people actually fell for it

Possibly โ€“ some people think WWE wrestling is a legitimate contest. I prefer to err on the side of hurting the feelings of the ignorant rather than risk moar ignorants thinking we have shit for brains.

not claiming I don't have shit for brains

>He was just illiterate as fuck.

I never make this assumption. These psyop guys are trained to come across this way. I'd much rather rip them to shreds than to appear to have any sympathy for bad ideas at all.

It depends on the situation. I'd stop the guy carrying the cat by the tail because he's causing harm (or at least discomfort) to the cat. However, people who have been told not to do something that will result in some relatively minor amount of discomfort - yeah, I'll step right out of the way and let them learn the less on the hard (painful) way. Those are the lessons you learn the best.

>The movie is validated by your willingness to follow its charade.

Yeah, I would have not used 'truth' to describe it. It would be a sense of experience; perhaps even an emotional feeling of believability.

But truthโ€ฆthat's an absolute that doesn't care how you feel about it. You don't choose truth for it to exist. You either choose to accept it or to deny it.

>Yeah, and how often are you in tune with truth in every thing?

Not always, but given our difference in attention to linguistic detail, I assert I'm likely more often in tune than those who aren't as careful about said detail.

>you've noted the lessons learned 'the hard way' are the ones that stick

Well, depending on how hard the deduction and experimentation is, this same rule can apply. I've proven lots of things that weren't trivial that also weren't accomplished through error.

Note I haven't said anything bad about errors. Some of the best discoveries are accidental, based on errors or just brainfarts. Some of them will make you feel outright retarded because you didn't think of them before you wasted ass-loads of time pursuing some other attempt at a solution.

It's all good stuff as long as you're doing something worthwhile.
