Well, this is a bit late for me, as well. At least to start a NB. Bread will be 3 hours plus. There's a gap in here but a pickup in an hour or two. AM baker will pickup the Ghost bake.So getting out the current bread is the main thing.

If you want a relief pitcher, I'm offering. OR you could strongly encourage anons to shitpost the heck out of the rest of this bread, which they will happily do if given a tiny push.

When the bakes go extra late, it's not a bad thing to speed them up; picked this up from the longtime baker who mentored me. Graveyard is always slow, espec. on Sundays. Bakers who take night shift a lot often sleep for a couple of hours when they know there's a ghost bake likely, aiming to pick it up around 400 posts. Still slow enough to grab notes (or get them from a helpful anon).

So no one really has to suffer thru really long breads unless they're having a good time with frens or on the other side of the world where it's daytime.

If you are the baker who started recently, do you know how to set up a Ghost bake?

To set up a Ghost bake:

You post something the stuff below, linking your post to your DOUGH post, so the new baker can find it easily.

First, ask if someone wants to bake. Unlikely but possible:

Baker must leave in a few

Handoff requested

If and when no one responds:

Ghost Bake now in effect

Notifying BO/BV.

Please collect Notables & CALL OUT for a LURKING BAKER

(You probably know how to notify BV/BO, but if not, you click on the black triangle to the top left of your post and click "report" in the menu, then "Baker leaving kitchen" or something like that)

I had such a crush on Kurt Russell him as a kid. I admire him even moar now. Just watched Escape from NY last night with my grandson. Snake Plissken in the flesh! (I keep wondering if anyone under 40 knows his real name.)

Anons, I meant to rest and then take the next bake, but it's really too late for my schedule. But I have a little tribute for you graveyard fags, Godspeed to all.

A Special Tribute to Sunday Night Graveyard Anons

(to the Tune of the Gilligan Island Theme)

Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale,

A tale of a fateful bread

That started after the midnight hour

From a tiny 4-post bread.

The graveyard shift is a slow one, lads

It's not for the faint of heart

But Sunday night is a special fright

For it's the day 'fore the Monday 'mart.

But a doughty band of anons brave

Their duty not to shirk,

Stayed with the Board, though they couldn't afford

To miss Monday morning work (Monday morning work).

Oh what can we do for these winsome souls?

Who would sacrifice their sleep?

Baker gave a sigh as matins drew nigh

And the mists began to creep (mists began to creep).

"It sticks in my craw that the dough's still raw

And the hours are growing long,

"Well, lads come here, I've got a word to share,"

It's "seven fifty-one" (751).

The anons knew what they must do

Their eyes took on a gleam

Each dug into his big-gest stash

Of shitposts, jokes and memes (etc)

As the kitchen warmed, the dough it formed

In the shape of a crispy bun

As pretty soon, they'd all attuned

to seven-fifty one (751).

As the posts raced by, that bread did fly

Right up to the clouds in the sky

There aloft it sat, like a French cravat

Where only the eagles fly.

So this is the tale of anons who

Made a bread both light and fun

As they all cogitated, on a number as they waited for

Seven fifty-one (751).
