Canadian human rights activist Yasmine Mohammed says Western women who don the hijab are perpetuating oppression and misogyny.
Ms Mohammed has told the Outsiders program that New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern was ignorant for ‘thinking the Muslim community all believed in the hijab’.
She says the truth is most Muslim women in Western nations don’t wear the hijab, but that millions around the world are ‘brutalised’ if they choose abandon the head wear.
