Yes, the tax cuts were so awesome that they literally had to turn around and implement child credits for next year at double in order to keep people from losing their shit. Of course, this doesn't help those without children at all.

Make no mistake about it. Lots of people didn't fair too well this year. Anticipated returns diminished significantly. While I think that many agree that people should not owe/be owed at the end of the year, the realization of this didn't hit until folks started getting their filings back, and it was a shock to many.

I personally had a lot change this past year. Income went up, brackets changed, and the penalty for making more was severe. Others that I know were at the higher bracket already, and they experienced the same loss in income.

No, the amount from paycheck to paycheck did not reconcile with previous returns, and ended up owing, like many others, at the end of the year. Not bitching, just stating fact. Remember, if the money is leaving your pocket, it's going somewhere else:

Just a reminder.

100% agree. Again, it's why Ivanka came out touting their new idead to give double-credit for having kids. I mean, I get it, but not everyone is able to or having kids for one reason or another. The rest of us have our broods already, and we just didn't see the net gain. We ended up owing.

Agreed. This is my only complaint with current administration.
