Well, What would you expect of Obama's Border Patrol Chief (also appointed by James Comey to assist FBI Training)(that openly supported Comprehensive Immigration Reform) to say???

Wonderful that Morgan agrees on the wall and the immediate crisis…but do I trust him?

Is he being offered a job on the border security by Trump???

Mark Morgan Testified in Front of Congress and Advocated for Comprehensive Immigration Reform (Mark Morgan testifies at a Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee hearing on Capitol Hill on November 30, 2016 )

Morgan said he was in favor of comprehensive immigration reform.

During the hearing, Morgan said, “I think [comprehensive immigration reform] is definitely needed and we fully support that.”

The National Border Patrol Council criticized Morgan for his remarks to Congress.

The National Border Patrol Council Called Him a ‘Disgrace’

In November 2016, the executive board of the National Border Patrol Council said in an op-ed for the conservative website Breitbart that Mark Morgan is a “disgrace,” in particular pointing to his testimony in front of Congress in which he advocated for some sort of immigration reform. “Chief Morgan, the head of the Office of Border Patrol who by law is supposed to stay politically neutral, and who is not supposed to advocate for partisan legislation, agreed with Senator Carper by stating that the Border Patrol supports comprehensive immigration reform,” they wrote. “This is directly contrary to the voice and will of the vast majority of the Republicans elected to Congress. It is also directly contrary to President-elect Trump’s comments while on the campaign trail.”

The op-ed goes on to say that Morgan’s position is “tenuous at best” and that he “does not have the will necessary to secure the border for the citizens and legal residents of this country.”

Start at 41:29 Comprehensive Immigration Reform remarks-2016

Tom Carper “Now, how does that comprehensive immigration reform help? Particularly where there's a guest worker program, where folks can come up from these countries, work for a while, and go back legally? Please? “

Mark Morgan “First of all, I think CIR is – is definitely needed and we fully support that. You just alluded to a couple of examples of that.”

Tom Carper “The CIR being comprehensive… “

Mark Morgan “Immigration reform, I'm sorry. Yes, sir. Absolutely, there are definite push factors, weak economies, weak government, in some cases violence, family reunification, economic quality. Those are – those are all true and I agree with that. I think from the – from the United States Border Patrol perspective, again, I'm just looking at the facts.

And like I said, when we do – when we do institute a really thought-out consequence delivery system, we do see that positively impacting the flow, meaning it does go down.

We know that they're coaching individuals on specifically what to say when they come here, that they just rattle off and they memorize the magic words that they need to say so that they'll fall within the statute of credible fear.

So I think that is one thing that we can do as part of CIR is to take a look at the policies, where it makes sense and try to have a good facilitated discussion. Are there some adjustments that need to be done going forward? Credible fear alone from 2000 to 2013, less than 1 percent were claiming credible fear coming across.

Today, it's exponentially gone and it's continued to – to rise. We do see that as an issue, again going back to the NTA, the – the notice to appear. We know that that's definitely a pull factor. We know that they're communicating and they're like, hey, it doesn't matter. If you get here, you will be released.

You say these magic words, even if you don't say the magic words you're still going to be let into this country. I think we need to have a discussion about our utilization of the NTA to make sure that we're really applying it where it's needed going forward. I think that needs to be part of the facilitated discussion on immigration reform."
