Louis XVI was King of France at the time of the French Revolution. He was beheaded as was his wife Marie Antoinette. Although called the Revolution of the People, it was really the revolution of the Demoncrats. History paints a romantic picture of the revolution but in reality it was revolting. The streets ran red with blood as political enemies were dragged out of their homes, unfairly tried in mock tribunals, and beheaded by guillotine in the Reign of Terror.
For those of you who wonder why POTUS is taking it slow and doing it right, it's to avoid another Reign of Terror.
