Notre Dame events summary:

Cathedral is locked up for the night at 18:00.

Fire starts after all tourists and workers have left the cathedral. Alarm is raised at 18:20.

It is explicitly confirmed that there were no constructions workers at Notre Dame cathedral at the time of fire.

However, there is a video of a guy in the gallery of the South Tower when the fire is already well under way. Guy appears to be wearing a white hard hat, which would suggest he is part of some crew. He is walking away from the North Tower.

The North Tower hosts the largest bell of the cathedral ("Emmanuel"). Exit from the North Tower is via the South Tower staircase.

Should Emmanuel come lose and fall, it would pulverize the North Tower and thus destroy the whole frontal fassade of the cathedral

Some time into the fire, France24 (the tv station) proclaims that the whole cathedral is going to burn down completely, including the two towers, although the live pictures do not support this claim at all. Sky reports the same information and points out that at this stage this claim does not make any sense, but that it does come from an official.

How can an official claim this ? Maybe because the person knew that there was going to be a second fire, located in the North Tower that would lead to the fall of "Emmanuel", the 13 ton bell that would destroy what the roof fire leaves intact ?

As the large fire continues, TV images show that firefighters also point water at the North Tower. This appears weird, as there is no evidence of fire or smoke, but at this time of course it is already getting dark, so smoke would be hard to see. In any case, this is commented on by various TV stations. It is speculated that the firefighters must be afraid that the fire could "jump" onto the tower and that this is a preventative measure.

As it turns out, there were in fact two fires: the large one that started near the rooftop that everybody knows about, and ANOTHER ONE in the NORTH BELL TOWER

As the large roof fire is brought under control and it becomes clear that the North Tower fire was detected early on and extinguished, thus not leading to the complete desctruction of the cathedral, Macron visits the site and then proclaims "we will rebuild" (without the "modern diverse nation" bs).
