Exclusive: House Dems Sign Secret MOUs To Target Trump
Chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Elijah Cummings and Financial Services Chairwoman Maxine Waters executed a secret Memorandum of Understanding to “target” President Trump and subpoena all his financial and banking records, according to a letter sent to Cummings from ranking committee member Rep. Jim Jordan.
Further, Jordan’s letter indicates that other MOUs have apparently been signed and agreed to with House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Ca, who has promised to continue investigations into the president despite findings by Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s office that there was no conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Russia. Attorney General William Barr released a summary of Mueller’s 400 page report several weeks ago and the redacted version of the report is expected to be released by the DOJ this Thursday.
On Monday, Jordan sent a memorandum explaining his objections to the partisan behavior of Cummings and “unprecedented subpoena to Mazars USA LLP,” as reported by SaraACarter.com.
“We’d describe (the MOUs) as an agreement to conspire and coordinate their efforts to attack and investigate POTUS,” Congressional official.

You did not disclose the MOU’s existence to Members or the American people until after I raised the matter.”
In the letter Jordan asks Cummings to “provide greater transparency around your secretive conduct.”
Jordan also requested that Cummings answer specific questions about the MOUs.
“If you intend to continue to use the Committee’s limited resources to attack President Trump for political gain, I hope that you will at least be transparent about your actions,” said Jordan at the end of his letter. “Your ability to function as a fair and unbiased finder of fact is now at grave risk. The Members of the Committee—and, more importantly, the American citizens we represent—deserve to know exactly how you are leading this Committee. I look forward to your detailed answers to these questions.”

A Russian Orthodox priest has been exiled into service in a small village after a scandal broke out over his wife’s participation in a beauty pageant.
Oksana Zotova, a Magnitogorsk-based cosmetologist and mother of two, fell victim to an online harassment campaign after photographs of her participation in the beauty contest were leaked last week.

Zotova’s husband, the priest Sergei Zotov, was dismissed from the Magnitogorsk cathedral and exiled to a remote village of 4,000, the BBC reported Monday.
“Sergei Zotov will not be rehabilitated until his wife repents,” Archpriest Feodor Saprykin, who chairs the diocesan court, told the Komsomolskaya Pravda tabloid on Thursday. “What kind of a priest is he if he can’t control his own family? How will he control his own parish?”
Zotova’s supporters, opera singer Svetlana Kasyan among them, have hit back at critics, saying “A woman’s beauty is not a sin.”
Zotova, 32, later defended her participation in the pageant — which landed her the title of Miss Sensuality — during Lent, noting that the event was rescheduled due to “unforeseen circumstances.”
“They long persuaded me to participate in the competition,” Zotova, who had documented preparations for the beauty contest online before making her social media accounts private, told Moscow’s Metro newspaper on Friday. “I decided to follow through.”

BREAKING: Obama Judge Overruled - Asylum Seekers Must ‘Remain In Mexico’
According to new reports coming on Tuesday, the Trump administration plans to resume its immigration practice of requiring asylum seekers to remain in Mexico as their cases are heard, following an emergency motion staying an earlier injunction blocking the policy.
US District Judge Richard Seeborg’s recent injunction had ordered a halt to the practice, but on Friday, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in favor of the Trump administration, granting an emergency stay of Seeborg’s initial ruling.
Seeborg was appointed by Obama.
“As DHS continues to implement MPP across the southern border, we will continue to advise our partners in Mexico, so each new location becomes operational in a way that ensures a safe and orderly flow,” said a DHS spokesperson.
With the crisis at the US-Mexico border continuing to grow, attracting the attention of both US voters and the media, the bitter fight over the Trump administration’s efforts to overhaul existing immigration policy remains in the national spotlight.
In recent months, federal and state law enforcement officials have repeatedly sought assistance regarding the growing numbers of migrants apprehended at the porous southern border, as lawmakers remain bitterly divided on the issue.

The Trump administration is resuming its controversial “Remain in Mexico” policy requiring certain non-Mexican migrants who claim asylum at ports of entry along the southern border to wait in Mexico while their cases are processed in the U.S., a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) spokesperson told CBS News Tuesday.
The administration had the halted policy, officially known as the “Migrant Protection Protocols,” for a few days after a federal judge blocked the government from implementing it. On Friday, however, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals granted the government’s emergency motion to stay the lower court’s ruling, allowing the administration to resume the practice.
The policy had been expanded by the administration after it first debuted at the San Ysidro Port of Entry in San Diego in late January. Approximately 1,105 Central American migrants have been returned to Mexico to await their court hearing under the practice.
Since U.S. District Judge Richard Seeborg in the Northern District of California issued his injunction blocking the policy last week, no asylum seekers have been returned to Mexico by the U.S. government, a Mexican government official told CBS News Tuesday.
The DHS spokesperson said the agency would resume the practice in ports of entry in California and Texas, including those in Calexico, San Diego and El Paso. The U.S. government will inform the Mexican government of the policy’s expansion to other locations, the spokesperson added.

The practice of returning certain asylum seekers to Mexico while their requests are processed in American courts was one of former DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen’s signature policies to confront the unprecedented flow of migrant families from Central America heading towards the U.S.-Mexico border. Last month, U.S. immigration authorities said they reached a “breaking point” after apprehending or turning back more than 103,000 migrants — including approximately 53,000 families and nearly 9,000 unaccompanied children — along the U.S.-Mexico border.

A university professor from Japan had allegedly gotten his students to make ecstasy in 2013, AND another designer drug known as 5F-QUPIC in 2018. This drug is a cannabis-like drug that has been banned in Japan back in 2014 due to it apparently causing traffic accidents.

When the police ran an investigation, Iwamura, the 61-year-old pharmacology professor told them that he was trying to further the “education” of his science students, as reported by CNA.
Officials said that they couldn’t find the ecstasy that was produced and claimed that it “probably has been discarded”. However, they did find traces of another drug in the laboratory.
As you need a license issued by regional authorities in Japan for such academic research, the professor who did not have it could face up to 10 years in jail if found guilty.
This incident had taken place in Matsuyama University in western Japan, and the investigation started after authorities got a tipoff from an outsider.
Iwamura is a professor of the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Matsuyama University. According to Japan Times, he conducts research on dangerous drugs in Japan. These dangerous drugs are defined as drugs that contain chemical agents which will cause you to hallucinate or get stimulated.

Europe car sales sink for 7th straight month
MILAN – New car sales in Europe are continuing to fall for the seventh straight month, dropping by 4 percent in March.
The European carmakers' association ACEA, based in Brussels, said 1.72 million new cars were sold last month, down from 1.79 million in March 2018. Italy led all five top markets in decline, with a double-digit drop.
The Volkswagen group gained market share, capturing 23.2 percent of sales with a mild 1-percent drop. Shares of its luxury brands were mixed, with Audi up by 1.7 percent and Porsche plummeting 19 percent.
French carmaker Renault was alone among mass carmakers in increasing sales, up 2 percent, on the strength of its lower-priced Dacia marquee.
German luxury carmaker Daimler's sales slipped by 13.3 percent. BMW sales were down by 2.2 percent.

Le Pen courts Salvini, Farage for 'biggest group possible'
Far-right French politician Marine Le Pen said on Monday (15 April) she would welcome Nigel Farage's Brexit party into a larger eurosceptic group in the European Parliament (EP), if the UK were to participate in the EP elections in May.
"He is welcome if he wants to join. Even if it might be just for a moment," she said at a press conference, according to media reports.
'We pay everything, we never get what we want - we are done.' Dutch MEP Auke Zijlstra wants the Netherlands to leave the EU.
Le Pen, who leads the French National Rally party, also said "we have mandated Matteo Salvini … to try to build this very big group of the Defense of European Nations" in the EU parliament - referring to Italy's deputy prime minister Salvini, of the far-right League party.
League and National Rally are currently already members of the same parliament group, the Europe of Nations and Freedom (ENF).
ENF has 37 MEPs of the parliament's 751.
Farage and other MEPs voted in on the ticket of his former party Ukip are members of a different political group, the Europe of Freedom and Direct Democracy (EFDD).
Other parties highly critical of the mainstream pro-EU, like Hungary's Fidesz and Poland's Law and Justice party, sit with other groups again.
"We want to go further and get the group which is the biggest, the strongest possible," said Le Pen.
She also signalled a strong move away from previous promises to have France leave the EU, but instead pledged to reform the EU from within.
Since the UK voted to leave the EU in 2016 and the subsequent political in-fighting that followed, a similar shift of focus away from 'exits' occurred in other eurosceptic politicians across the bloc.
However, not in every country.
The Dutch Party for Freedom (PVV) is still very much in favour of a Netherlands' exit, or Nexit, according to MEP Auke Zijlstra.
"We [the Dutch] have three percent of the votes. We pay everything, we never get what we want - we are done," said Zijlstra in an interview with EUobserver.
He did not expect economic disaster for the Netherlands, a trading nation, if it were to leave the economic bloc.
"The most important port of Germany is Rotterdam," he said, suggesting Germany would have no choice but to accept higher tariffs if it wanted to import goods through the Dutch port.
But he added he could understand why French eurosceptics were now backing away from 'Frexit' and instead opting for a change from within.
"A European Union based on power blocks, that will never work for the Netherlands. But for very large countries saying: 'we don't see a large common interest but if we are big enough we [will be able] to defend our national interest in a common club', then yes, you have a point there," said Zijlstra.
He said that to France the EU "traditionally has been an extension of French interests".
Zijlstra hoped to be re-elected next month.
He said he had enjoyed the freedom to vote along national lines in the ENF group, rather than being forced to stick to group positions.
Zijlstra recounted how he had once heard a Dutch MEP from the second-largest centre-left group, the Socialist & Democrats, tell him about how party discipline worked.
"I think I would personally find it difficult to be in a group that has very strict conditions … S&D always voted as one bloc. How do you do that?", he said.
At the same time, if a new eurosceptic group were to want to achieve something in terms of changing legislation, it is going to have to tackle how it finds majorities.
While current polling project the anti-EU forces to do well, they will still be outnumbered by more moderate parties that want to move EU integration forward.
