The "courts" here are administrative law judges that work for the executive. They are not Article III judges. An ALJ is bound to enforce executive policy, which is supposed to be developed from statutory and Article III case law. Link to the decision/order ….

Congress is completely dysfunctional. Presidential candidates run on legislative priorities. It is up to Congress to set legislative priorities. Congress defers policy making to courts and administrative agencies. Congressional oversight is inevitably a dog and pony show, and any "adult" output is used to justify further expansion of the FedGov empire.

At any rate, this behind the scenes DEM coordination of committees is SOP. So is use of committee power to harass political opposition. Who watches Congress? Supposedly, the people. Good luck with that. It will inevitably collapse of its own weight.

Of course the connected people get different treatment. What good is prosecutorial and judicial discretion if it can't be used to protect your fellow connected peeps. What goes around comes around.

Just watch out when the inevitable counter-example has to be made to feed the myth that justice is blind.
