A former Trump administration official who cooperated with Robert Mueller's probe is having serious second thoughts about talking to the special counsel's office, citing concerns about being named in the Justice Department's redacted version of the report.

They noted that the White House requested that former senior officials cooperate with the Mueller probe (but my obstruction!), which included handing over email addresses for aides to investigators.
"Don't cooperate," the former official said, arguing it would have been better to refuse to cooperate and be compelled to talk to the grand jury instead, and perhaps have some protection in terms of not being identified.
Donald McGahn and Reince Priebus, according to current and former officials, gave a clear, detailed breakdown of some of the most controversial incidents, from the firing of Comey to attempts to oust Sessions. McGahn spoke with the special counsel for dozens of hours. Dozens.
The Justice Department also revealed in a court filing in the case against Roger Stone that it plans to let a โlimited numberโ of lawmakers and their staff review Muellerโs report โwithout certain redactions, including removing the redaction of information related to the charges set forth in the indictment in this case.โ
