Hillary and Clinton is a play written by Lucas Hnath that premiered in 2016 at the Victory Gardens Theater in Chicago. The play is set in an alternate universe[1] and tells a story centering on Hillary Clinton's 2008 presidential campaign.

The play is scheduled to open on Broadway on April 18, 2019, and previews began on March 16 at the John Golden Theatre. The Broadway production stars Laurie Metcalf as Hillary Clinton and John Lithgow as Bill Clinton.

Synopsis

The play takes place in an alternate universe and centers on a woman named Hillary Clinton who is running for President of the United States in 2008.[4][8] A few days before the New Hampshire primary, Clinton is in her hotel room trying to turn her struggling campaign around.[1][8] Her campaign manager Mark advises her to concede the primary race and accept her opponent's offer to be his running mate.[1] Against Mark's advice, Clinton turns to her husband Bill for assistance, but the two disagree on how much vulnerability Clinton must show to win over voters.[8]

Notes

Barack Obama is not referred to by name in the play, only as "The Other Guy".[6]

hippie culture actually evolved from england

where there was a group of beatnik type people who believed in not wearing shoes or cutting their hair

then the Beatles made the long hair, shake your hair โ€“ shake it loose โ€“ mainstream

then all those self-taught guitarists who were fans of the new electric guitars started forming bands

and it was all let loose

fed by a generation of kids who saw their friends returning from Vietnam without arms or legs

and everyone became as close as family because they were all being attacked by a corrupted system that was promoting EMPIRE and CORPORATISM

and you should thank your lucky stars

because we stopped their asses

and made them re-evaluate their globalist plans

many hippies were REAL patriots

and were fighting for our constitution

it was only some who tried communes

but they loved each other because THEY WERE ALONE

a generation of kids whose parents and society had no room for anyone who didn't buy into a cookie-cutter lifestyle
