That you might know the truth, even though it is uncomfortable to know - Judaism was created in the early centuries AD when a tribe of Ashkenazi took up the dead religion of the scribes and the pharisees. They are unrelated to those "of Judea" = "juden" = "jewish" = jews of Jesus's day.
