WRT Flynn, POTUS sent publc & private messages of encouragement, to stay strong, POTUS still cares, before Flynn began cooperating w/.gov; Flynn's attorney pulled him from a joint def.agreemt (still potentially cooperating w/.gov), POTUS' attorneys said that "still remains" but eventually said Flynn not sharing under joint def.agreemt looked hostile toward POTUS. But because of client/lawyer privilege we can't tell if POTUS was trying to flip Flynn or even knew the specific messages given.
WRT Manafort, evidence that POTUS actions had potential to influence whether to cooperate w/.gov; repeated msgs suggesting a pardon, also repeating POTUS didn't want Manafort to "flip". At the 6/15/2018 court day about revoking bail, POTUS said he felt "a lot of it is unfair" but when asked about a pardon said "I do want to see people treated fairly" "That's what it's all about." Manafort didn't cooperate then eventually pled guilty pursuant to an agreement but was found to have violated it by lying to investigators.
POTUS talking during the trial had potential to influence the jury if jurors had read the news articles even though they'd been instructed not to.

POTUS sent many public messages of support, indicating encouragement Manafort not cooperate w/.gov even though he told aides POTUS didn't like Manafort. Asked about a pardon, POTUS responded with words of great respect for what M. has done, gone through. Maybe POTUS meant not so much to influence the jury, but public opinion. Or maybe he was holding out an offer of pardon.

OVERVIEW
M. Cohen pursued the Trump Tower Moscow project on behalf of the Trump organization, briefed DJT numerous times, tried to schedule DJT on a trip to Moscow, and eventually lied to congress about the timeline of these discussions to minimize the appearence of dealings with Russia.

Cohen talked to: POTUS' counsel (lawyers), Felix Sater, Dmitry Peskov (.RU deputy chief-of-staff), Elena Poliakova (Peskov's assistant), and discussed on numerous occassions with DJT-Jr, Ivanka. Also later a NYT reporter and of course DJT, about the TrTwr.RU project, a "potentially $1Bn deal"
FBI searched Cohen's home, office in 4/18, POTUS said C wouldn't flip, sent msgs privately to C of support. Cohen spoke with POTUS counsel, believed he'd be pardoned but in 7/18 he began cooperating w/.gov, & POTUS publically criticized him, suggested C's family members had committed crimes.
Summer '16 candidate DJT publically said he had nothing to do with the Moscow deal then asked Cohen privately about its status, which C found "interesting"
At some point in the Summer C said the .RU development .co had no land thus no project which DJT called "too bad" and never asked again.
2: Cohen adhere's to "party line": see Vol-II-Sect-II.A when questions, re possible .RU support for DJT-as-POTUS arose DJT denied having any connections to .RU, which Cohen took as the "party line"
Cohen did not tell POTUS-elect explicitly this line was untrue because he thought DJT already knew it was; Cohen thiought it important to limit the appearence of association with .RU to before DJT had become the party's presumptive nominee (952, a 302 from 9/12/18)
