Cohen's involvement with the attempted set up of meetings for Trump Tower, Moscow

Origins of PapaD joining Trump campaign

Summary:

Cohen attempts to set up meetings for Trump Tower with Russian officials via intermediaries during 2015 through to June 2016. No meetings actually occur.

Papadopoulos is told that Russia might have Clinton dirt soon after joining the Trump campaign. He suggests this to a representative of a foreign govt but does not share directly with the Trump campaign.

Key observations:

>Cohen is not good with details. He thought Klokov was an Olympian weightlifter and got an email address wrong. He also seemed to be depending on Sater to arrange meetings but he didn't seem to have the promised connections.

>Former aide to Russia's energy minister, Klokov, reaches out to Cohen via Klokov's wife's connection to Ivanka Trump

>Telephone record between Cohen and Poliakova forms part of a Grand Jury redaction. He requested assistance to move Trump Tower project forward.

>Sater emails Cohen to arrange visas for Cohen and Trump via Evgeney Dvoskin, an executive of a bank in Ukraine. This shows as a footnote with redaction for Grand Jury.

>Trump received a seperate invite to St Petersburg International Economic Forum from Sergei Prikhodko, Russian Deputy PM, which Trump declined via his PA.

>Robert Foresman unsolicited reaches out to the campaign via Graff (via Mark Burnett). States he has expertise in Russia and Ukraine and had set up private channel for Putin and George W Bush. Wanted a private meeting to discuss 'concrete things' that couldn't be done on email. No meeting was arranged.

>Soon after joining campaign PapaD was approached by Mifsud with info Russia had dirt on Clinton. PapaD did not tell the campaign this. Mifsud with 2 Russian Nationals then tried to arrange with PapaD a meeting between campaign and Russia. No meeting was arranged.
