Close, the "another plane" you theorize is actually fallen angels of the spiritual plane. Fallen angels were cast down to earth but they still MUST obey God's laws. To get around God's laws they have deceived people to do their bidding. Once they create AI they will no longer need people to do their bidding and will use robots to do their dirty work. Then demons will just raise humans for a food source as they are energized by consuming spirits.
