used to live in seal beach for many years, also long beach. Seal beach has a very small port where a NOAA ship would be park several months out of the year. Also it would be used for other Naval Ships as well. I dont know the sepcifics of which ships though.

There is also a retired military base right off the coast of Seal Beach. You can see the bunkers from the road. Supposedly they were missile storage at one point.
