Perhaps, although that 'bug' could easily be a polygon math problem, which is also far too common. (Writing a correct polygon logic library is one of the most difficult problems in computational geometry. I've done it. There are very few correct polygon libraries in existence in the world. I would not be surprised if no visual rendering systems have correct polygon math systems in them.)
So…the polygon problem you point out here is different than a kerning or buggy ABC spacing problem with font spacing.
And yes, it would be nice if all software developers knew WTF they're doing and most of them don't - even the ones working on really high-end software.
