But beware, I read Big Data, and what is yet to come, will accelerate the creative destruction of capitalism as we now know it. As data assume petabyte proportions and processing powers continue their exponential rise, algorithms will deliver superior production, investment and consumption outcomes —not necessarily better for the perspectives of HR… This is not written to depress you, but HR are, for sure going to be victims of this trend. When I first saw a short and disturbing clip over at Infowars, I thought it had to be a troll, or a parody, but then while searching YouTube for an version to embed I ran across others, from two and three years ago, where grown men thought it was a good idea to video tape and upload clips of themselves literally crying over Star Wars trailers.

Facebook users have long questioned why hate groups have been allowed to prosper using the company’s myriad platforms. But for too long, hate groups have used the platform to organize, strategize, recruit, and grow — nearly unabated. As Facebook tries to tackle this problem many are left to wonder if their actions will result in meaningful change.
Writers and activists who focus on racism know what organized hate looks and feels like on Facebook. Let’s just say, it gets ugly, fast. While the site’s community standards explicitly state “organized hate” and content “that expresses support or praise for groups, leaders, or individuals involved in these activities,” is not allowed, Facebook rarely takes action on many of the hateful and threatening comments/posts reported.

Libya announces killing of 5 terrorists, including Egyptian
Clashes left 13 killed, 52 wounded in Tripoli
The Libyan National Army (LNA), led by Commander Khalifa Haftar, announced on Friday that it killed five militants believed to be affiliated to terrorist organisations in Libya.
The army’s spokesperson, Ahmed Al-Mismari, said that the five killed militants included Abdel Moneim Al-Hassnawi, who is known as Abou Talha, and the commander of the Al-Qaeda organisation in east Libya, and Egyptian militant Abdullah Al-Desouky, as well as Al-Mahdi Danqo.
According to Al-Mismari, the five militants were killed during a raid of ‘Operation Al-Karama’s’ forces near the town of Sabha. He stated that the Egyptian militant was among the group of Egyptian terrorists, which is led by Hisham Al-Ashmawy, and who was arrested in Libya early in October last year.
Al-Mismari added that Abou Talha was a dangerous terrorist who was engaged in terror activities in Syria and Iraq, as well as the attack on the “oil crescent”, which is a coastal home-area to most of Libya’s oil export terminals. Al-Mahdi Danqo was the one responsible for transferring terrorists from Derna to other places in Libya.

UN begins evacuating refugees from Libya to Niger
Over 3,000 trapped in detention centres near fighting
The UN said Friday it had evacuated 163 refugees from war-ravaged Libya to neighbouring Niger, but more than 3,000 others were still trapped in detention centres affected by clashes.
The move marked the first evacuation of refugees and migrants out of Libya since fighting escalated in Tripoli two weeks ago, the UN refugee agency said.
"Given the situation in Libya, humanitarian evacuations are a lifeline for detained refugees whose lives are in jeopardy in Libya," UN refugee chief Filippo Grandi said in a statement.
The operation came as fierce fighting continued between forces loyal to strongman Khalifa Haftar and those backing the internationally recognised Government of National Accord (GNA).
The renewed fighting has killed over 200 people and left more than 900 wounded, the World Health Organization said Thursday.
More than 25,000 have been displaced, according to the International Organization for Migration.
Dozens of women and children were among those evacuated on the UNHCR flight that landed in Niger early Friday morning.
They had all been held in detention centres near the frontlines of the conflict.

National Guard identifies Green Beret who died in WV during parachute training
The soldier who died this week during a routine parachute training exercise at the Suffolk Executive Airport was a Green Beret from Maryland who had done tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, according to the West Virginia National Guard.
Sgt. 1st Class Nicholas Sheperty, 36, was pronounced dead by local emergency services personnel after suffering fatal injuries from an airborne operations training exercise at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, the guard said.
Sheperty was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 19th Special Forces Group (Airborne), out of Kingwood, W.Va., and was part of a high-altitude parachute team.
“This is an extremely sad day for West Virginia,” that state’s governor, Jim Justice, said in a statement. “We owe everything we have to the men and women who step up and make sacrifices to protect our country’s freedom. We will do everything we can to provide support to his family and will never forget his service and sacrifice to this great State and our Nation.”
Maj. Gen. James Hoyer, the adjutant general of the West Virginia National Guard, said in a news conference live-streamed from West Virginia that an investigation into Sheperty’s death is ongoing. But he also said there was no equipment malfunction.

Salvadoran murder suspect arrested in FL, cops say
A routine traffic stop in Tamarac, Fla. has resulted in the arrest of a North Lauderdale man who is wanted for murder in El Salvador, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said.
Carlos Ernesto Lozano Rodríguez, 26, who is a reputed gang member in the U.S. illegally, was stopped just before noon Monday near Northwest 70th Avenue and West McNab Road, officials said.
Rodriguez was driving 2007 Cadillac Escalade and allegedly impeding traffic. When the deputy pulled him over, Rodriguez said he had no Florida driver’s license, but showed a passport from El Salvador instead, investigators said.
The deputy entered the passport information into a national crime database and discovered there was a homicide warrant for Rodriguez. He was also listed as a gang member who was to be considered armed and dangerous, according to Interpol.
The deputy waited for backup before getting Rodriguez out of the SUV and putting him in handcuffs. Rodriguez resisted and refused to get in the patrol car. A Sunrise police officer was passing by at the time and helped deputies secure Rodriguez, investigators said

Pro-ISIS dark web channel teaches how to attack the West
Islamic militants received information on a pro-ISIS channel via the dark web that describes in detail how to secretly obtain weapons and put them to use in jihad attacks on the West.
A report from the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) said the information was provided in English on the encrypted communication app Telegram and reveals everything one would need to plan a revenge attack, Fox News reported.
MEMRI confirmed that at least part of the message was written by a notorious ISIS operative, who wrote, “Finally you can buy all weapons that you need to make unbelievers bleed inside their cities!! Turkish Army, rebels launch simultaneous attack against Syrian Army, YPG troops in northern Aleppo
BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:25 P.M.) – The Turkish Army and their allies from the National Liberation Front (NLF) launched a heavy attack against the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and Kurdish-led People’s Protection Units (YPG) in northern Aleppo this afternoon.
According to a source near Aleppo city, the Turkish Army and NLF heavily shelled the YPG near the town of Mennagh and the Syrian Arab Army inside of Tal Rifa’at.
In response to this attack, the YPG fired several mortar shells towards the Turkish Army’s positions in northern Syria; they would hit a number of areas including the town of Azaz near the border.
The reason for the attack this afternoon by the Turkish military and NLF is not known; however, earlier in the day, the Turkish Air Force was seen flying over Aleppo.

France deploys military near Russian border with Estonia
A unit of 300 soldiers from the French Army and the Foreign Legion is expected to arrive in the Estonian town of Tapa, just 140 kilometres away from the Russian border, next week, according to France’s Embassy in Tallinn.
The troops will stay in Estonia until the end of August as a part of the FRA-EFP LYNX mission, which is aimed at boosting the alliance’s presence in the region. Paris will also deploy five Leclerc tanks and 20 infantry fighting vehicles, including 13 VBCIs, which is a French version of Multi-Role Armoured Vehicles (MRAV). They will be transported to Estonia by rail.
This is not the first time that French forces have been present in Estonia, as they were also located in Tapa for ten months in 2017. In addition, in 2018, the French Air Force also patrolled Estonian airspace within the framework of NATO’s Baltic air security mission.
