The entire staff of the SC have to answer for their failure to recuse themselves and the abuses of power they took as part of the SC. That answer will be made via the judicial system.
POTUS may have been initially taken aback by the appointment of the SC and the composition of its team, but was quick to take advantage of the enemy shooting itself in the foot. The ability of the SC to turn the US public against the DS should not be underestimated.
