Posting this because South Dakota send down their Dusty Johnson.
"A majority of the people coming across the border at Yuma are Guatemalans," he said. Because the American policy treats families more favorably than single individuals, Johnson said people are increasingly using children who aren't their own to gain easier entry into the United States. He said he learned from U.S. Border Patrol that the drug cartel "rents" a child at a cost of $1,700.
"Almost no one makes the journey from Guatemala on their own. This is traffic controlled by the drug smugglers. They made $64 billion last year, $34 billion on illicit drugs and $30 billion on the smuggling of humans," he said.
it costs about $7,000 for people to make the trip to the U.S. southern border and due to their lack of having that kind of money, they are dependent on the cartel. The person claiming asylum then becomes, in essence, an indentured servant while working off the money with the cartel, Johnson said.
YET
After saying all this….
Johnson said he still stands by his vote against President Donald Trump's national emergency declaration for the southern border, explaining that the country can both secure the border and have a separation of powers at the same time. He pointed out that he has voted in support of a wall along the southern border.
Thanks for all your help and support, Dusty Johnson, which evidently only includes well-wishes.
