Anti-Federalists vs. Federalists thing is a little tricky. Maybe you know this, but most don't.
Back then, a nationalist was a person who wanted a strong central government. A federalist was a person who wanted the power to mostly be with the states, and a relatively weak(er) central/federal government.
The nationalists lied and called themselves the Federalists. Propaganda has always been around.
The true federalists then called themselves the Anti-Federalists.
Alexander Hamilton was a Federalist founder. He was as nationalist as you could get – he tried to get a monarchy in America. Patrick Henry was an Anti-Federalist.
That's why "The Federalist Papers" are at times misleading. They were written by Hamilton, John Jay (strong nationalist, not federalist), and James Madison, who seemed to have evolved his ideas over time.
