Yes. These militias are well within their legal authority to make citizens arrests in these cases. For example, if you see a driver hit a mailbox, legally speaking you can follow em and make a citizen's arrest. Not the best idea since not shielded by qualified immunity like a sworn cop is but still legal (unless you beat their ass, etc). Same principle applies here. Knowledge of illegal acts.

Not condoning this because then the illegals can (and probably will) have all kinds of possible tort claims to go after militia members. "oh, he dislocated my shoulder when he handcuffed me" blah blah. Too many injuries can occur during the course of an arrest which is why it's better to have sworn law enforcement deal with it. And also your point. Infiltrate an existing militia or just…"they" form "their" own "militia" and massacre some illegals. Oh that'd look great.

Would like to see the actual plea agreement. To see if she's been immunized against any further prosecution or just for that matter only because technically the US could hit her with a dump truck full of charges relating to human trafficking in a totally separate indictment. Nail her in another jurisdiction…or the same one.

This doesn't make much sense unless they've got her teed up for another prosecution. They had to have discovered all sorts of other fuckery during the investigation. Shit that doesn't involve Raniere. I would expect to see her name on another indictment as she has her hands in so many cookie jars.

Which means that, absent subsequent prosecutions, this whole thing is about throwing Raniere under the bus and immunizing his handlers. Was kinda hoping for equal justice here. Meh I hate being optimistic.

Earlier an anon stated no cooperation agreement exists. If that's the case then she doesn't have to flip on anyone. It would mean that prosecutors just didn't wanna have to try her and get into a protracted brawl because of the size of her bank account(s) (which should have been frozen, assets seized).

Federal prosecutors are…I don't wanna say lazy…they're overworked. They rarely actually prosecute anyone. Prefer to plea out because they can bring the full weight of the US Code and threaten people with massive fines, decades in prison.
