he didn't. He did. That was his acceptance. The plea deal itself is on his Wikipedia

I was going to mention the same on FFE's account, but I have mutual
follows from a lot of Flynn's family and don't think the account is worth
the effort nor risking their pain. Regardles of what they may have figured
out about what is going on, I'm willing to bet a they aren't fully aware of
what he is doing. He can't tell them.
