Debated with myself about this but had to. Just my beliefs, no sauce avaliable save for what I write.
It all depends on whether you believe in GOD or cult dogma designed for control, war, hate and fear.
But, suicide is murder. Not the same of course as killing another, but still murder. To kill ourselves before the time ordained by GOD before we were born is wrong and viewed so, by GOD.
One thing you do not need to worry about is whether or not GOD is taking care of him, and he is, but he is, unfortunately, in a state of limbo, by himself, experiencing all the things he was trying to avoid and he will, until that moment pre-ordained for him to pass, and at that instant he will be with GOD as GOD asks his spirit Why? Then, he will have to come back into the same conditions he was experiencing in this life and he will have to go through his life until the pre-ordained time for his passing. Then, in his meeting with GOD, both lives - the one wherein he was a suicide and the one just completed are reviewed together so as to soften any pain he might feel in discussing the suicide life, too soon. As well, GOD is perfect and any extenuating circumstances are of course vital. If your son was having mental difficulties and did what he did not out of hate or fear but confusion, then you can count on GOD to not only lessen any time your son will have to re-examine his choices that brought about the suicide and those extenuating circumstances will - I guarantee - ensure that his next life will be far better and less painful that the one that caused him to lose hope.
Remember, forever is a long, long time. You will be with your son again, many times, and the joys you will experience will make this present sadness fade quickly into the mists of the past.
