They determined that the file were copied to a flash drive at some point, not necessarily at the time they were removed from the DNC. The files could have been copied out at any speed and then put on a flash drive and it would have produce that exact same forensic signature.

I like Bill Binney. I trust ill Binney. But I'm annoyed that he's overselling what the forensic evidence means.

yes, if Hacker downloads the files over the internet then they will be at sum-12MB/s speeds.

And if SR goes into the DNC server room late one evening, reboots the system while plugging in a live Linux USB drive, and copies them file onto the same or different USB drive then the timestamps will show ~12MB's transfer speeds.

But if hacker downloads them to his own system at whatever-speed and then copies them onto a USB drive to be mailed to Wikileaks then the timestamps will show the exact same ~12MB/s.

The forensic evidence is consistant with it being ether SR or Russian hackers. Let's not oversell it.
