Authorities ID Pedestrian Hit, Killed By Car In Long Beach

The driver, a 59-year-old Long Beach resident, remained at the scene and was not cited or arrested.

LONG BEACH, CA – Authorities identified a pedestrian Thursday who died three days after they were hit by a car in Long Beach.

 

Jonathan Allison, 35, of Long Beach, died of his injuries on Sunday, according to the coroner's office and the Long Beach Police Department.

 

According to police, Allison was hit about 11 p.m. April 11 on Willow Street near the Los Angeles River overpass by a 2016 Chevrolet Cruze. The driver, a 59-year-old Long Beach resident, remained at the scene and was not cited or arrested.

 

The pedestrian "was in the middle of eastbound lanes of Willow Street, not in a marked crosswalk, when he was struck" by the car, according to police, who said drugs and alcohol were not factors in the collision.
