The problem with the reporting on Larry Mitchell Hopkins seems to be the focus on the group's stopping of illegal immigrants.

Larry Mitchell Hopkins was arrested on weapons charges. Not false arrest or detention of anyone.

He wasn't supposed to have the weapons he had.

Well, it does seem a liiiiiiittle bit hypocritical of someone violating the laws of their country getting so front-and-center in an effort to stop other people from violating the laws.

As another anon pointed out, guy could have taken an administrative role with UCP. He didn't need to acquire weapons he was prohibited from having in order to be useful.

>She said the family hoped to reach the U.S. and find help for her 2-year-old daughter Belen, who she says was born with microcephaly due to a Zika infection, and cannot walk or talk

Of course. And the only option is to strike out on the road with a caravan of God-only-knows-who.

Did they apply for approval to travel to the US for adequate healthcare? That's a thing people can do.

Wouldn't that ultimately make more sense than dragging a very sick child through horrible conditions?
