TeacherAnon here, specifically for a charter program in California known as Aspire Public Schools. We’re located throughout California (Northern—Modesto, Stockton, and Sacramento; as well as the southern region in Los Angeles).
As a charter, we focus mainly on developing in areas considered “underserved”—i.e., black and immigrant communities. Many of the programs we’re rolling out lean Left and our CEO (interim–Mala Batra) is often sending long winded emails regarding what she refers to as a “negative political climate” (…in so many ways, Trump is bad for our demographic).
That said, I thought Anons might be interested in investigating my organization. In the past two/three years we’ve had sudden high-level administrators and company leaders quit or “move on”…Superintendent in the Central Valley (Modesto/Stockton/Sacramento) and a CEO who was hired from the East Coast. Many of the top brass have ties to the Obama Administration, which is often mentioned in the emails we receive celebrating our new hires.
Lots of interesting things happening at the high level. Namely the rollout of a program known as “Social Emotional Learning” (SEL). It was developed at Yale and is fostered under a program known as CASEL (Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning). They are headquartered in Chicago, specifically:
815 West Van Buren St., Suite 210
Chicago, IL 60607-3566
312 226 3770

Sorry this is so long…I’ve been meaning to put this out there for Autists to dig on as I’m concerned about this program and the way its being used…I’ll go into detail again in another post, for now I’m a bit tied up. Expect more posts in the future with linked materials that they’re distributing to our schools and copies of our Professional Development materials. Lots of strange things.
Anyhow, happy Easter everyone!
