If evolution were true (i.e. self creation) we are our own gods. Therefore, any god external to self is necessarily a usurper of the rights of that which is self-made to self-govern and should be instantly dismissed as such.
Alternatively, if we are created then we have obligations to that which created us - the created is always a debtor to its creator.
Furthermore, the only sensible response to an evolutionary origin of mankind is to assist evolution by weeding out the less-fit and breeding only from the fittest specimens. Hence why eugenics is the sensible response to a belief in evolution.
However, if we believe in a Creator who made humankind in His own image, then we do well to hear what He has to say about our obligations and to be grateful that He is merciful and loving and cares for the "unfit" just as much, if not more, than the "fit" and enjoins us to care especially for the weak and vulnerable and "unfit," not kill them off per the demands of evolutionary common sense.
