FireAlarmfag here - a "state of the art" FA system c. 2010 wouldn't preclude an electrical fire, even if all of the electrical wiring/system were replaced about the same time.
They'd need a Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus (VESDA) system to get the jump on smoke in the sanctuary area. These detectors are constantly sampling the air actively to detect smoke particles and are approx. 10X more sensitive than normal passive detectors.
