Small plane crashes near Norco jail

 

A single-engine plane crashed today inside the grounds of the California Rehabilitation Center on Fifth Street in Norco, triggering a fire, but no prisoners or staff were reported to be injured.

 

There was no immediate word on the condition of the pilot.

 

The crash was reported around 12:15 p.m.

 

Riverside County Fire Department and corrections personnel were fighting the fire at the scene.

 

The circumstances surrounding the crash are unknown, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department. The National Transportation Safety Board will be conducting the investigation into the plane crash.
