One suggestion is to consider that people are adrift in their respective demographics where they don't really know any of the people outside the current or past recent generation of main players for their specific demographic.
Once you start drawing connections to people long deceased or even people from other demographics which they don't know much about you start waking them up to demographic content that they don't even care to consume let alone investigate.
And if you illustrate the connections within their demographic, they immediately get blocked by the notion that there would have to be connections to other demographic players and therefore false because that's too big to imagine.
