You'll have to forgive the Australian; they don't understand humour very well. Their TV is awash with what I call sledgehammer humour. That is, when the non funny sketch is shown, they have to hit you around the head with a sledgehammer and tell you that that was a joke and you are now supposed to laugh.
Well, the very first image is eerily similar to the waveform from the 2016 NK nuke test.
