Light doesn't travel at all.
First error is in making the [incorrect] assumption, that light travels.
Extended 1st error:
Failure to appreciate that it is you/perception that is moving at the 'speed of light'.
Consider the globe, spinning you <youaround an axis at 1000mph (give or take).
The spinning globe orbiting the sun at around 10 times that.
The solar system, orbitting the galactic centre (black hole, my azz!), which is in turn orbitting the 'great attractor' of our glactic super-cluster (and by this point, we're hitting someplace close to half the 'speed of light')….
One more elevation above that level (and unofrtunately beyond our current ability to 'perceive' or measure - ie; the known universe) and you have everything in the universe travelling at the so-called speed of light.
It's the same reason travelling back in time is nonsense, and the same thing is behind the casting of light as both a particle and a wave (both wrong).
Someday, 'scientists' will get that.
