Prayer Request

I know this happens every day around the world, but today (last night) this happened to someone I know. The owner of a store I go to has been killed.

If you would be so kind as to say a prayer for this man's family, that they might be comforted and cared for.

Not looking for sympathy, just sincerely want prayers for them, and the officers who have to deal with such hell.

EVERETT — A robbery of a neighborhood mini mart turned fatal Monday night, according to police.

A man, 25, went to the Food Mart gas station in the 6900 block of Broadway with a plan to rob it, according to the Everett Police Department.

He stabbed the man working behind the counter around 10 p.m., killing him, police said. As the robber grabbed money, a woman walked into the store, and the robber grabbed her and slashed the knife at her, according to police.

She fought back and got away. She did not suffer serious injuries, Everett officer Aaron Snell said. Police dogs searched the neighborhood.

The suspect ran to his home down the street and told a roommate what he did, according to police. The roommate called 911.

Everett police arrested the man for investigation of first-degree murder, attempted murder and two counts of robbery.

The deceased man’s name has not been released.

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause of death.

Yellow crime scene tape blocked off the parking lot Tuesday morning at the corner of Broadway and Columbia Avenue.

Under a large red sign with the store’s name, the mom and pop shop advertised an ATM, three self-serve gas pumps, bait, tackle, beer and lottery tickets.

Police set up black screens near the front door to block passersby from seeing inside. Investigators with scrubs over their shoes walked in and out of the store, collecting evidence.

People had left bouquets of orange flowers beside a power pole on the south end of the lot.
