Putin: we don't want to cause problems for new Ukraine president

ST PETERSBURG, Russia (Reuters) - President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday it was unacceptable that residents of Ukraine’s Donetsk and Luhansk regions had no rights, but he said Moscow did not want to create problems for the new Ukrainian leadership.

Putin earlier signed an order easing the procedure for obtaining a Russian passport for residents of the separatist-controlled Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Kiev condemned the move.

“We don’t have any desire to create problems for the new Ukrainian leadership,” Putin said, explaining the passport move.

NRA sues Los Angeles over disclosure law for contractors

This could get interesting!

(Reuters) - The National Rifle Association sued Los Angeles on Wednesday over a new law requiring that contractors seeking to do business with the second most-populous U.S. city disclose their ties to the gun rights group.

In a complaint filed in Los Angeles federal court, the NRA said the law violates its free speech rights under the U.S. Constitution. Mayor Eric Garcetti was also named as a defendant.

The Los Angeles City Attorney’s office did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
