Harris: Young Black Men Jailed for Selling Pot Should Be ‘the First in Line’ for Legal Weed Jobs — ‘They Were Ahead of the Curve’
On Wednesday, MSNBC played a clip of 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) discussing marijuana policy at the “She the People” presidential forum in Houston.
When asked about the “gentrification” of the legal marijuana industry, Harris said, “Invariably a lot of the people who historically who were arrested for marijuana sales were young men, young men of color. And so isn’t that the irony of it all? That now this is one of the fastest growing money-making industries in our country and the very young men who were trying to make money doing the same thing, but got criminalized and have now been branded felons for life are excluded from the economic opportunities that are now available because of this new industry.”
She continued, “There have to be policies in place and look at the background and actually do the work of saying some of those young men should be first in line to get the jobs that are available. And that their felony convictions should not be the barrier to them having employment in an industry they were a part of before it was an industry.”
She added, “They were ahead of the curve.”

Icelandic Court Orders Valitor (Formerly VISA) to Pay WikiLeaks $10 Million Over 2011 Banking Blockade
The Icelandic court has ordered Valitor, formerly VISA Iceland, to pay WikiLeaks $10 million in damages over the 2011 banking blockade.
Valitor had been ordered to process card payments for WikiLeaks in 2013 by the same court, and was told they would face daily penalties if they refused to comply.
By not reinstating services, the company was fined $204,900 per month or $2,494,604 per year for continuing the blockade.
On Wednesday, Icelandic media reported that the company has now been ordered to pay up.
Valitor has stated that they are likely to appeal, according to WikiLeaks.
WikiLeaks had launched a case against Valitor in Reykjavik back in June of 2012 over the unlawful suspension of financial services against Wikileaks.
Ten days after WikiLeaks published Cablegate, they were blockaded by Bank of America, VISA, MasterCard, PayPal and Western Union. The political effort to defund the organization lead to a wave of hacks and cyber attacks against the companies by transparency activists.
“The blockade is outside of any accountable, public process. It is without democratic oversight or transparency. The US government itself found that there were no lawful grounds to add WikiLeaks to a US financial blockade. But the blockade of WikiLeaks by politicized US finance companies continues regardless,” WikiLeaks said in a statement at the time.
The financial blockades were condemned by the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, the UN Special Rapporteur on the Promotion and Protection the Right to Freedom of Opinion and Expression and the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights Special Rapporteur for Freedom of Expression.

The Three Purposes of Russiagate
Russiagate has three purposes.
One is to prevent President Trump from endangering the vast budget and power of the military/security complex by normalizing relations with Russia.
Another, in the words of James Howard Kunstler, is “to conceal the criminal conduct of US government officials meddling in the 2016 election in collusion with the Hillary Clinton campaign,” by focusing all public and political attention on a hoax distraction.
The third is to obstruct Trump’s campaign and distract him from his agenda when he won the election.
Despite the inability of Mueller to find any evidence that Trump or Trump officials colluded with Russia to steal the US presidential election, and the inability of Mueller to find evidence with which to accuse Trump of obstruction of justice, Russiagate has achieved all of its purposes.
Trump has been locked into a hostile relationship with Russia. Neoconservatives have succeeded in worsening this hostile relationship by manipulating Trump into a blatant criminal attempt to overthrow in broad daylight the Venezuelan government.
Hillary’s criminal conduct and the criminal conduct of the CIA, FBI, and Obama Justice (sic) Department that resulted in a variety of felonies, including the FBI obtaining spy warrants for partisan political purposes on false pretexts from the FISA court, were swept out of sight by the Russiagate hoax.
The Mueller report was written in such a way that despite the absence of any evidence supporting any indictment of Trump, the report refused to clear Trump of obstruction and passed the buck to the Attorney General. In other words, Mueller in the absence of any evidence kept the controversy going by setting up Attorney General Barr for cover-up charges.
It is evidence of Mueller’s corruption that he does not explain just how it is possible for Trump to possibly have obstructed justice when Mueller states in his report that the crime he was empowered to investigate could not be found. How does one obstruct the investigation of a crime that did not occur?

Crooked Hillary Viciously Attacks Trump in WaPo Op-Ed, ‘Mueller’s Report Documents a Serious Crime Against the American People’
Twice-failed presidential candidate, Crooked Hillary is still bitching about her 2016 election loss.
Crooked Hillary Clinton viciously attacked President Trump and fantasized about his impeachment Wednesday in a Washington Post opinion piece where she laid out a 4-point plan on how to “hold President Trump accountable for obstructing justice and possibly breaking the law.”
Hillary Clinton said Wednesday in the WaPo op-ed that Mueller’s report ‘definitively’ concluded the 2016 election was corrupted and it “documents serious crimes against the American people.”
Clinton said that “what our country needs now is clear-eyed patriotism, not reflexive partisanship. Whether they like it or not, Republicans in Congress share the constitutional responsibility to protect the country.”
Hillary attacked Attorney General Bill Barr and accused him of “obfuscation” because of redactions he made (with the special counsel’s help) to Mueller’s report — redactions that are required by law to conceal grand jury secrecy.
“But it’s a road map” Hillary said of Mueller’s garbage report. “It’s up to members of both parties to see where that road map leads — to the eventual filing of articles of impeachment, or not.”
Hillary defended the impeachment of her husband Bill Clinton and said the GOP-led House in 1998 “rushed to judgement.” — So she called for “Congress to hold substantive hearings that build on the Mueller report and fill in its gaps, not jump straight to an up-or-down vote on impeachment.”

AP — The sudden immigration to Israel of Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich makes him the latest in a string of Jewish Russian tycoons who have made a home in the country in recent years.
Abramovich received his Israeli citizenship Monday upon arriving in Israel on his private jet, immediately becoming the country’s richest person, with an estimated net worth of more than $11 billion. Israel grants automatic citizenship to anyone of Jewish descent.
The Chelsea football club owner made the move after his British visa was not renewed, apparently as part of British authorities’ efforts to crack down on associates of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Britain has pledged to review the long-term visas of rich Russians in the aftermath of the March poisonings of Russian former spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter in the English city of Salisbury. Britain blames Russia for the pair’s exposure to a nerve agent, an allegation Moscow denies.
