Sorry if this has been posted already, but an FYI that the eugenics as practiced and researched had its genesis in America. The Nazis simply picked up the data and philosophy already in place. IBM helped with the data aggregation. Planned Parent is a downstream result of US eugenics history/philosophy.

Note that one of the key founders/contributors to the Cold Spring Harbor effort was Carnegie, who also founded and pushed mandatory, state constitutionally demanded "public education" to create a docile and uninformed mass with NO ambition to compete with the Robber Barons or their progeny.
