tang dynasty (618ad-907ad) follows sui dynasty (581-618). tang founded by mil commander that quashed coup attempt against sui. during this time you had taoists legalists and confucians all in the court vying at each others throats in pursuit of influence. during this time buddhism earns its way into growing prominence as well, think chinese style machiavelian court intrigue.
ming dynasty (1368-1644) preceeded by northern and southern song dynasties (960-1279) (notice gap from above of about 300 years) founded by a buddhist monk. during ming renaissance of philosophys occured including synthesis of confucian buddhism and taoism to greater or lesser syncretic extant.
Qing dybasty follows directly from ming because Qing dynasty is manchu occupation forcing ming loyalists to retreat to taiwan so def no continuity of lineage there.
