I don't see how IP addresses can be any indication of the origin of a hack. Anons here are well aware of the utility of VPNs. But even assuming they are comped (which I do, kek) if you are going to hack in to a system you are not going to do it from your system, you're going to do it via other system you've hacked. If you have secure shell access you can tunnel ports ad infinitum until you feel comfortable. Especially if you're sitting outside a Starbucks at the time with a brand new laptop.
You would need some some super high access to all the routers in the world to even start to piece an intrusion done like that together (plus cameras probably), and crowdstrike does not seem like that kind of outfit to me.
No, they said signatures, so I'm assuming they found strings in Russian, known Russian methods of compromise? Either or, if it's digital it can be faked so I would not take any categorical statement, that wasn't from a state intelligence agency, that "it was the Russians" seriously at all.
OK I actually just checked back to relay a spoopy occurrence I had with YouTube (android app).
I never watch YouTube with autoplay turned on, and I watched a very interesting vid on the ND fire and immediately after that a video about "MAGA hat = Mega hate" came on, so I quickly stopped it but it had another video after that about the Mueller Report (probably pro-impeach) . So autoplay had been turned on, by an update I'm assuming.
I just found the choice of auto play interesting (and no, I'm by no means surprised kek), totally unrelated to the subject, and thought this might be a new DS tactic.
Their thinking is obviously that after I watch a conspiracy theory video they'll show me a Real News video and I'll be fixed. If that were the case the opposite would be true too; anyone who saw a conspiracy vid would immediately be awakened by the revelations within.
In short, I think there's something wrong with the liberal brain that makes it act on logical fallacies.
And if you do use that platform and don't use autoplay, look and see if it's on!
