It's very difficult for people brought up in the secular Western education system to break through the Materialist Atheist worldview. Even people achieving altered states of consciousness through meditation or other sober practice generally pursue that activity because they already are seeking spiritual knowledge and experience.
Psychedelics give everyone an avenue to attain paradigm redefining experiences, and as such should be seen as a valuable ally in the pursuit of awakening the masses of humanity that are struggling in darkness because they have been convinced that the light does not exist.
Speaking to my siblings about the topics I'm passionate about is like trying to explain quantum-mechanics in Swahili to a dog. They are simply not conceiving of the world from a viewpoint that has the breadth to contain the unknowable. I was raised the same way as them, and I was a staunch materialist atheist like they still remain, but I have had experiences that shook me to my core. I think unless you experience a profound Metaphysical revelation yourself, it is extremely hard to grasp the significance of a spiritual perspective.
