yes, the fact that your 'model' is over illuminated doesn't diminish the fact that your graphic shows something you probably didn't suspect. you can see the line (lower right quadrant) on the model where the illuminating light doesn't shine, and it looks just like the crescent carved out as the moon waxes and wanes illustrating that the moon is most likely a spherical object
