the article about King County commissioner(s) wanting to regulate ICE from using Boeing Field to transport prisoners and detainees was a real eye opener for me.
we complain about government, it should be plural. the city, the county, the state, the federal. just for starters: they can all give you a traffic ticket.
i have been a victim of the plea deal myself. when lawyers tell you "this is not TV. you have been charged. your guilt or innocence no longer matters, and it is my job to get you the best outcome i can…" and then they get a partner to come and help "convince you", you will understand.
unfortunately, until then, you and i are stuck with the paradigm: it is not that ppl don't believe you when you try to explain your innocence and the oppression of our LEO / court system,
it's that they don't care
and yes, there IS a difference between French police and ours - but it's only a matter of degree.
