Attended a Japanese cultural event yesterday. There was a black lady there who apparently was brought up surrounded by Japanese cultural influences (we're talking way deeper than anime) … her vibe was Japanese, it was really cool.
Also cool was that some of the Japanese drummers were Japanese, other drummers in the group were white, anyways, they were pretty much all speaking Japanese to some degree.
And guess what? None of the Japanese were offended by any "cultural appropriation" … we were all welcome regardless of skin color and treated as honored guests. We all shared food in the form of a traditional American pot luck buffet. A good time was had by all.

Great to see Americans of different colors coming together and appreciating another culture together with Japanese who have come here legally to live in America and share their best talents. Just fer the fun of it!
(And I got to sneak in a Q quote during the evening while socializing … * happy kek * )
